IELTS English Language Test

Up to 20 points are going begging here - Don't miss out!

The IELTS English Language test is used by many organisations for many reasons around the world.

In respect of Australain visas, the English Language test requirement has been introduced gradually over the years by DIAC (formerly DIMIA) to ensure that migrants have sufficient command of English to gain skilled employment in Australia.

Too many skilled migrants arrived in Australia who were unable to secure jobs at a similar skill level to that they held in their home countries due to poor English ability.

The introduction of English Langage testing is aimed at being non-discriminatory and although there are citizens of some countries that are exempt from taking it, in reality to reach the pass mark, many applicants still have to take the test to get the 10 or 20 points available.

In UK, the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test is administered by the IELTS organisation and there are currently 48 testing centres around the country to allow easy travelling. Elsewhere in the world, the British Council are one of the main partners operating the test on behalf of IELTS.
