The 457 application is a stressful visa process due to time pressures and job concerns. We make it quicker and less onerous.
This visa requires you to have been offered a job by an Australian employer who has been authorised by DIAC to employer foreign workers. This can be a challenge, as the employer must show they are not able to find suitable employees already in Australia and have adequate training processes in place. Your uncle offering you a job due to family loyalty alone is not going to crack it!
This is the most commonly used program for employers to sponsor overseas workers to work in Australia on a temporary basis.
Employers can be either:
- Australian businesses
- Overseas businesses.
This process is always complicated and stressful due to the employer having to apply for permission to employ you, usually simultaneously to your 457 visa application being submitted - plus you have the added concern that if the process takes too long, the employer might withdraw the job offer.
The process overview is below:
-
Employer Applies to be a Sponsor
The employer must apply to become a sponsor.
-
Employer Nominates a Position
The employer must nominate the position to be filled.
-
Employee Applies for a Visa
The 457 visa is usually granted for 4 years, however, it is a temporary visa and if you wish to remain in Australia indefinitely, a skilled migration visa will likely be needed onshore at a later date. Family members may be included in this visa application and all applicants will have to meet health and character criteria.
Some applicants will be required to have their skills assessed before the 457 visa application will be approved.
We deal with these all the time, for both employers and individuals. Call us and save yourself time and worry.
The Challenges
For many applicants, the fear of losing the job offer creates tremendous stress and lack of experience in submitting the application
often causes unnecessary delays which can destroy the entire process. Among the most frequent reasons applicants are turned down or the employer withdraws the job offer are:
- Many 457 visa applicants fail to provide DIAC with adequate documentation to prove their skills / Employment
History
- Skills Assessments are often required and not provided early enough in the process.
- Criminal records are not disclosed and DIAC find out.
- Health Check issues are not addressed with adequate foresight.
Application Processing Times
This depends on whether the company sponsoring you has been approved by DIAC. If they have and we are able to get their prompt co-operation, then we are able to acquire a 457 visa quickly.
Call and give us your specific application information now and we can advise you.
